Tsunami

Merry Christmas!!

12/25-12/27

a0032771_1641032.jpgAnyway,這次我們抽空遊了中山和順德.

HK Brands & Products Expo 2004

Went to visit the 39th Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo (工展会)at Victoria Park with my parents. This was my first time visiting this annual big event of Hong Kong. From the documentaries on TV regarding this event, there used to have huge bottles (the balloons) of "oyster oil", "white flower oil", etc at the expo venue. But today, I didn't see any of those balloons, but nicely designed and decorated booths with lights and mobile figures.

The venue was separated into dry products area (for garments, jewelries, furniture, electronic appliances, cooking sauces, snacks, tea leaves, etc) with booths of some of the major, top Hong Kong brands, food area (with booths offering noodles, soups, drinks, etc where you can try a lot of the food before buying!), toys area, and 2 interior halls for electrical appliances, health instruments, medical stuff, beauty & health care products, etc.

Entering the expo from the entrance at Causeway Bay, we were surrounded by castles with jewelries, merry-go-round, ice-cream, etc. Like a carnival! ^o^ There were many people, but not too crowded. The atmosphere was like visiting the Lunar New Year's Flower Market!

My mum bought some clothes and some health "drugs" and drinks. My dad bought a new heater for the family, and a set of saws (the tools), which is a set of powerful saws that can cut wood, metal, thick fibre plastics, etc. (He likes tools!!) I bought a pair of socks (?? I wondered why I bought this at the expo :P) and some tea. We saw many people carrying trolleys for the shopping!! Trolleys filled with oyster oils, cooking oils, noodles, rice, drinks, etc. ^o^ I wish we could have one, so that we would not have to leave those nice+cheap noodles and soups behind.

P.S. I saw a girl wearing yukata to the expo… Probably a HK girl, although I only saw her back. The way she wore the yukata was really MESSY (MESSY also from the back). Yukata at December?? Something wrong with her? Didn't seem trendy or rave anyway. Haha.

X'mas 04 --1

a0032771_1527018.jpgThis night, went to see a french movie with buddy. The movie was supposed to be shown at City Hall. Cuz of the fire, the venue has changed to UA Admiralty (movie theatre), which was better than City Hall, I think. ^O^ The guy sitting next to me was probably learning french. I could hear him "practising" listening and conversation throughout the screening of the movie. -_-# If he turned higher his volume, I would have kicked him out of the hall.

B4 going to the movie, we wondered round at CWB. Took the pic of the x'mas tree at Time Square. The tree at Time Square was there in the pass few x'mas. Thus, not special to HK people at all. After that, we moved to Pacific Place, and again, took some pics for the x'mas trees there b4 the movie started. (See the LV one!! The whole tree is full of Monogram patterns!! ^O^ I like the red one offered by Kiehl's.)
